Hello all, my son has asthma and allergic rhinitis (dust mites allergy) and I am wondering if we should get an air purifier to help with symptoms. Has anyone tried them and have they helped/ not helped? Thanks so much for sharing your experiences!

air purifier
I have the Dyson air purifier and find it very helpful.
Hi, yes I find they have really helped me with my dust mite allergy and asthma. I've been using one for years now and have noticed a difference definitely! I have tried a range of purifiers over the years and found the best one was the Duux air purifier, it's quiet and looks nice in the room unlike some I have bought. It also has a night light setting that you can choose to keep on or turn off. The air definitely feels cleaner when I breath and over the summer I found this a godsend for my hayfever allergies too! You have to change the filter every 3-6 months but my one is really easy to change. Hope this helps.
I have the Dyson air purifier ,expensive but what price do you put on you, re health found it very good for my asthma used every night
Big thumbs up here for my dyson too,an added plus is I can lay it sideways or stand it upright.
Yes I too invested in the Dyson. Even took it on holiday with me. Well worth the money. Good luck
Yes I've been in a hotel room with an air purifier before and stayed over at a friends home who had one. Well worth using, also damp dusting with a wet cloth daily...no Polish.
Hi. I have them in all my rooms they are brilliant for me. I have brittle asthma with multiable allergies. Some are noisier than others. I brought a new before summer from a well known store. It cost 99.95 and has a wave front and the make has 2 letters in it. I am going to buy more of these because not only does it take out all the irritants from the air but it kept us cool in the bedroom at night when it was hot and muggie. I've had loads of dust extractors and this one has been the best. Hope this helps. xx
Thank you all! That sounds really positive, I am going to order one.... Just looked at those with the "allergy uk seal of approval" (though not sure how relevant that really is) and think the Vax or Electrolux one look good, and the dyson seems very popular on here. It's great to know there's something that can make a little bit of a difference. Thanks and good luck to all x
