So I had a telephone consultation on Monday with the respiratory consultant and we agreed that my asthma is not controlled. So he decided to change my inhaler from seretide to fostair. I have a bit of an odd question for anyone that has been on both. When I take my seretide inhaler, it really speeds up my heart rate (which I know is normal). Does fostair do the same? Or is it less or more?
Thanks in advance!

I think (could be wrong though!) it's the LABA element (long-acting bronchodilator) in the seretide that will be doing that. In seretide that's salmeterol. Fostair works the same way, so also has a LABA, but in this case it's formoterol. Both inhalers also have different steroid bases. Some people find they react that way to all LABAs but many people find one better than others - so it's difficult to say whether it would be better or worse for you personally. I hope it's better though and also gets you the control you need. 😀
