Sorry to hear you're feeling bad at the mo. Great you're requesting the inhalers - hope the GP has some reassuring words and you'll soon feel more yourself again.

Always good to request repeat medications in good time and to follow instructions on how and when to take them. Hope you feel better soon.

Still feeling flu like... my chest feels heavy in the morning.

I wonder if I should take double the preventor.

If you haven't got an asthma plan then if you can, talk to your asthma nurse or doctor about increasing your preventer inhaler or maybe a course of steroids for the chest to help you through the infection.

If you have a temperature then take paracetamol. Zinc lozenges are very good for viruses. Mouth wash gargling for the throat also good. Keep hydrated.

If your breathlessness gets so bad you have trouble speaking then call 111 (if in the UK) or emergency doctor.

Hope you feel better soon.

Difficult to give advice when we don't know anything about your case. You should seek medical advice from your doctor if your asthma is flaring up because of a viral or bacterial infection. The little you've said suggests that you need to have treatment in addition to the medication you're on.

Don't wait until Monday if you have a bad night. The 111 service is there to help out of hours and at weekends.

Not what you're looking for?
