I use Salamol inhaler and should have the flu jab but I’m allergic. Am I in the Coronavirus vulnerable group? I can’t get through to my dr to ask and I work in retail. My manager has been asking for a letter from the NHS but I haven’t received one. Thank you.

Am I in the vulnerable group
Hi, it's a little confusing isn't it, if salamol is the only inhaler you take then you just need to be more stringent with the social distancing, you dont need to isolate for 12 weeks
Thank you. I do take the brown inhaler too and montelukast tablets once a day.
It’s the clenil modulate one.
I don't think that on the list but check out the list on asthma uk website
Thank you.
You fall into the vulnerable group rather than the shielding group. As such you should ensure that you are able to keep social distancing at work and when out in public.
You won't get a letter from the NHS but your employer is still legally obliged to keep you safe at work as you are protected by the Equality Act 2010. You are entitled to reasonable adjustments at work and in the current situation that means social distancing. Almost impossible in the retail business. So alternative assignments should be explored and if the employer can't implement any adjustments then they should consider sending you home with pay. Employers have a duty of care to all employees and currently have to be proactive in order to keep up to date with government advice that will keep employees safe at work.
A large employer will have access to an occupational health expert who will advise them on what to do. Otherwise you can seek help from Access to Work who are a government funded service for employees. gov.uk/access-to-work
The employer will be advised by Access to Work what they need to do. Always keep the employer informed if you contact Access to Work.
