So after realising with a big shove from emmaf91 (my partner thanks you also) I went to a+e from work by the time I walked down corridor couldn't breathe to give my details an got wheeled to resus😱 chest xray clear again (was 2 weeks ago) no wheeze - explained I dont wheeze sats ok ' explained I dont de saturate. Very tachy, and breathless. Had magnesium iv in majors (had a funny turn) then because of c02 build up hyper ventilated is this normal?and left with migraine. Bit gutted as they are keeping me in white blood count raised but steroids usually lower them dr said.
But my chest clear going to repeat bloods in morn an hopefully see respiratory consultant tomorrow as there not sure how long to keep me in. Not even had a neb yet or paracetamol I've been asking for since 3pm... surely may as well be home... 🤷♀️ x

I’m glad you went in as it sounds like you needed it!
Did you have an ABG? (Ouch if you did!) and glad you got the mag! (Any hydrocortisone with that? 😉)
Steroids usually lower eosinophil count, but the general WBC usually gets raised cause of increased neutrophils, a it depends what they were looking at.
Hyperventilating can affect CO2 levels; it can go down or up depending on the mechanism and what your lungs are actually doing!
Keep pushing for the paracetamol and nebs tho 🤦♀️. If it doesn’t look urgent or if you don’t keep reminding them they can forget (took until I vomited once before they got me paracetamol for a migraine 🤦♀️🤦♀️😅).
Thanks. Yea eosinophils down due to ped as you said. There just not sure if infection maybe as chest clear, no wheeze and xray good but WBC raised so gonna repeat with crp later. Yea abg 🥴 no hydrocortisone with magnesium
Been scoring 5 on obs with hr tachy and resps ⬆️ now a 3 with ⬇️ bp haha. And ⬆️ resps. Good job came when I did I reckon. Oh an was a 5 after neb. They seem a bit puzzled as no wheeze and pf ok. 👀 🙂x
Migraines are horrendous and the last thing you need when your asthma is flaring. I’m usually in a darkened room keeping my head absolutely perfectly still when mine move in. I’m guessing it’s the stress of the attack that has triggered you.
Maybe you could put something over your eyes to block out the light till you get some meds. Something cool like a wet tissue/face cloth on the forehead often helps me too. Make sure at the least you get some paracetamol and get well soon!
Yea I reckon stress of it all luckily had migraine meds in bag and found 2 paracetamol in my bag! Thank you yea put pillow case over my head in end ha ha. 😂🥴
Thanks so much hilary39. They still cant get my resps and HR down so score between a 3-6 regular nebs had reaction to magnesium (trust me) they tried to send me home earlier said I could manage at home... respiratory said not before tue an need full assessment from respiratory consultant before discharge and I need to go on respiratory ward... medical team just come in an said "you picked a bad time to come in on a bank holiday hopefully home tomorrow" just had 5th ecg for today still everywhere! It's like talking to yourself! Lol 🤦♀️🧘♀️
Glad you went in. This no wheeze fast pulse, chest clear etc thing sure does throw them. Although my PF drops. I've done this many times as have others. All the best and rest plenty. Hope you're home soon.
At least I'm not the only one with these symptoms.. on respiratory ward now so feel safer. Ipratropium nebs seem to be helping, heart rate only slightly high now. Yay. 👌
sorry to hear your in hospital but your in the right place. They probably trying to find out what causing the symptoms also now you're in hospital youll been seen in the Respiratory clinic so they can keep an eye on you as well. Hope you get well soon.
Thanks pipswhips and everyone else you dont realise how much your all helping with this journey!!
So was seen by my consultant yesterday he was confused slightly and said it's not just asthma causing this.
Today- had chest ct, have managed 24 hrs Neb free WHOOP (literally had to do bed rest to achieve) 😂🤣 resps still go up to 38, and heart rate high at times blood pressure fluctuates between normal and low.
On my obs its constantly scoring between 3-6 on news chart.
But another consultant in fact 3 of them came an explained they think I have dysfunctional breathing to add to the mix.
so still severe allergic asthma and eosinophilic asthma but with this thrown into the mix too.
Just waiting on results of scan to make sure they haven't "missed" anything and finally got my covid-19 antibodies test so results this afternoon then home. (All being well).
I have a theory I may have had covid beginning of year haven't been same since ? Post covid syndrome exacerbating asthma (but obviously not enough research into it yet) plus consultant said main affect of post covid syndrome is dysfunctional breathing. But at least they're now listening to me about post covid syndrome!
Relvar now stopped switched to fostair 200 2 puffs BD, 12mg piriton regular with loratadine, prednisolone down to 15mg at some point come off... being discussed at complex severe asthma mdt for biologics and lung function hyperventilation and cardiopulmonary test in few weeks.
To be fair they're trying and doing good job just no quick fix. 🙂🤪🤞🏼5 days in hospital for first admission yikes!!!
