Following a fire on my train to work on Friday, ended up with Asthma exacerbationand ambulance trip.

All settled and home on prednisone..... Its 04.40 in the morning and been awake since 02.00, feel my whole body is going to implode..... So hate steroids.... A necessary evil.

Guess on a plus side my arthritis not as bad, so at least I can pace the floors and not be in pain. Every clod has a silver lining. Lol

Sorry, for the message in some ways, just exhausted, frustrated and dreading having to try to go to work on Monday with little sleep.

Hope your all having a better weekend.

Preds are definitely a necessary evil! So sorry you're having trouble sleeping, nothing worse when you have to get up after a bad night.

I have taken annual leave when these bad nights affect me, but then that depends on what job and manager you have.

My employer has a reasonable adjustment passport for staff covered by the Equality Act. Disability is a protected characteristic in the Act and your employer should consider making adjustments (usually following an occupational health review by a qualified practitioner) to help you do your job. And taking time off can be a reasonable adjustment. The employer arranges and pays for the occupational health review.

If you have a union rep they may be able to support you if you decide to pursue reasonable adjustments that make life better for you. NB asthma is considered a disability for the purposes of the Equality Act.
