Neb Machine in Greece

We live in the USA, and my son is traveling to Greece. He has a Phillips Respironics InnoSpire Elegance plug in nebulizer machine (120 V). I was told by the manufacturer that even if he purchased a voltage adaptor that the machine will not work. They cannot sell directly to the consumer, so I was told to go online and find a medical supply company that can sell a neb machine that will work in Greece. I have not had any luck so far. Can anyone help me out?

Not sure of power of them but have you looked into portable nebulisers? Whilst mine has a mains lead it also runs off regular batteries which I prefer.

He does have a Phillips portable nebulizer also, but one of his medications can't be used in it. What brand do you have?

Mine is an Omron portable nebuliser but yes you would need to check all medications can be used in it. However I would have thought a portable is the easiest way around things. Here in UK we have a company called Evergreen who can be asked about the different nebulisers they supply. I would have thought that there would be a company such as this who you could discuss needs with…..

Hi, the voltage in Greece is 220v the rest of Europe is 240v so any machine for either of those voltages should be fine, the information you were given about your existing machine not working was correct in fact if you plugged it in in Europe it would probably kill the machine.

So I would suggest searching by voltage possibly on Amazon.

I did click on the link, but unfortunately I can't read the language! I am wondering if once he gets to Greece, if he could just walk in and buy one, without having a prescription. Some medical equipment stores in the USA require a prescription.

Omron is a good brand used by the British medical profession. That's the only thing I can offer I'm afraid. When we travel to Greece we usually take an adapter for the plugs as well as ensuring any appliance we take has the right voltage.

I have a portable battery-powered one I got on Amazon that works great. I just found the highest-rated travel one. It works as well as my plug in one.

He has a battery operated portable machine also, but one of his meds can't be used in it because it is a "mesh" nebulizer. I did find a Pari Trek S portable system, that can be used with 120V or 240V. This is a Jet type nebulizer (not a mesh nebulizer), so it can be used with any medications. This may be helpful for anyone else traveling internationally.

As a last resort, Amazon sells the car adapter that you can use in your car. Hopefully all car adapters are the same over there as it is here. Having it in my car is a game changer for when I'm at work and need a breathing treatment. In my experience, I don't get that deep inhalation from the portables, even worse the mesh nebulizer! The best ones are the ones you buy at a medical supply store. Omron is a good one!!!

I'm currently using one called Drive Power Nebulizer Ultra and it's FAST!!! Almost as fast as the hospital breathing treatments! Good luck to ya.
