Has anyone had stomach pain since being on Foster Nexthaler?

I'm having really bad stomach pain at night. My GP seems to think it an ulcer but 2 rounds of Lanzoprazole then Omeprazole have not helped. It's getting so I'm scared to eat and sleep. While I was up in the middle of the night last night, I suddenly thought that the onset of my stomach issues has coincided with me being put on Fostair instead of Seretide. Anyone have a similar experience?

Thanks

Kim

I was given Fostair for Seretide in 2020 and to be honest ni problems at all. If pain is low down I can't see what use Omeprazole would be, then I am not a doctor.

Are you taking any pills like Iron. Codiene or Morphine, they will cause constipation with stomach pain. and don't I know it.

Kim if you are getting bad stomach pains that have not gone by Monday, you would be wise toy see you GP.

Thank you. You're right. I need to actually sit with a doctor and discuss my issues. It's so difficult to get a GP appointment where I live. I've had two GP e-consultations but a doctor can't feel my stomach via an online consultation.

No your GP can't examine you over the phone, you really need a face to face.

And in addition: I'm taking codeine for the stomach pain, it's the only thing that works. It's a lonely place at night, in pain, not able to sleep.

Yes and Codien can cause constipation and that can cause stomach pain. I get it at times with Morphine. This is one reason to see GP, to confirm this of find out what?

Thank you. It used to be relatively easy to see a GP but not anymore, not where I live anyway, but I will definitely try to see doc on Monday, it's getting me down. Thank you.

I think you need to be getting your GP to investigate this

If it gets too much ring 111.

You must have laxatives, such as lactulose, if you are taking more than the occasional co-codamol. I suspect the pain has nothing to do with the asthma, but I'm not a doctor. I'd insist on an urgent appointment face-to-face.

You should see a doctor first thing Monday. Don't mess around with unexplained stomach pains. Better to be safe not sorry.

I haven't had any side effects as you describe while taking Fostair. But other meds I was on last year led to an impacted bowel and I quickly ended up in A&E while on holiday. As others have said, a face to face appointment about unexplained and persistent tummy pain is required. If you get no where in securing a face to face appointment, use the 111 service. If they deem you need to see your GP, they'll note your digital records so that you can arrange the appointment without being fobbed off. Hope you find relief soon.

I take Fostair; no stomach issues. But I had stomach cramps at night when I was taking lansoprazole - every time i stopped or started they went and came back, once I changed to pantoprazole they went altogether. Hope you get it sorted with your GP. 🙂

The only real way to confirm you have an ulcer is a gastroscopy, a camera down the throat into your stomach.

I've been on Fostair for a long time, but my stomach problems are caused by a hiatus hernia and gastric reflux, both connected.

Have a look through this and go back to your Dr as you may need antibiotics, if it is an ulcer, as well as a PPI, as explained in the link above.

Hope this helps.

If your GP thinks you have an ulcer, then you need antibiotics because a bacteria is responsible.
