Yes I went to my appointment today. He is considering conditions that mimic asthma as I do not have family history of asthma only allergies and excema and hayfever. He said it does look like asthma but then he said infections can mimic asthma also. Now I am wondering!
He also said about doing spirometry test again then seeing about trying back on clenil and trying to reduce. I am currently on seretide, plus montelukast and salbutamol.
I'm a bit worried they are going to take all the medications from me.

They will find what is best for you. I only have hayfever and allgies in my family myself and I still landed up with asthma. I might be given the next level fostair if the treatment that I am trying now doesn't ease up my discomfort
Do you feel better on the medications? Surely no one would suddenly stop all your meds? You would have the opportunity to give your opinion about that - I would hope!
It's confusing for us when one medical professional diagnoses something then another queries that it might be something else. Best to try not to worry and see how things go.
But if your meds are working well for you - speak up if and when that time comes?
I would take your own advice and see what happens. I know it's hard with your mind working overtime.
There are a few condition that can mimic asthma. However you need to remember consultants are specialised at their disclipne.
I have heartburn which can give you an achy chest and cough. Sounds like asthma but not asthma as I found out. My indication is when my peak flow drops that my lungs aren't happy.
I know that doctors won't take away your medication unless they are absolutely sure you don't have asthma. Yes your opinion does matter and your voice will be heard. Hope this answers your questions and not adds to them.
Yes thanks hopefully they won't be I'm a but worried as when tried generic instead of seretide last month went right off. If they change me down to brown the same thing might happen. Im just worried if spirometry normal they will take everything off!
Yes I feel a lot better since went on seretide and montelukast. I am terrified as in the beginning I.nearly collapsed outside Chorley hospital as could hardly walk as so short of breath. I'll try not to worry it's hard!!
