2 weeks ago had a cough for a week was doing things that did not help like clearing out the attic that has od fiberglass insulation so thought that was the cough
Spent a few nights sitting in a chair rather then lying down in a bed then woke up one morning coughing constantly al coughing out unable to breath in , acc kind of set in even though i am calm and it has happened before wanted to call the ambulance but thought i cannot talk and any way by the time they get here i am a goner so grabbed both inhalers and went out front of house almost passed out started breathing the ventolin and the preventer symbicort 400 puffer the two loads of times and it calmed down drove into doctor put me on neutralizer was a lot better after that he gave me two antibiotics and said you have infection in your lungs so took the two for a week felt like someone was sitting on my chest for a few days got better
Also got montelusk and singular threw those in the bin tried them before and predislone they are pure poison and head wreckers god help any one on them your head would be mush after them.
So asthma is under control but not great going for a change of diet and vitamin c , d and a bit of fish oil , i met a doctor a friend of the family who is in practice in Canada where he is there is almost no asthma his advice move to another climate sadly my skillset and age prevents that i think i am 52 have adult asthma with 6 years about 6 trips to a A and E in that time and five to the local doc for the neutralizer.
Strangely enough he said a professor i used to visit was the main man for asthma probably in the country (ireland ) but all he does i give u a box of poisonous pills the ones mentioned above .
the doc i know also told me that when he worked in a hospital that one of the leading doctors to one of the top rugby teams in the country said was it 30 or 40 % of the players suffered from asthma they must be getting better drugs then joe soaps like us

I don't think everyone regards the drugs as poisons - many benefit from them. The side effects can be slight or severe as it depends on the patient. If a drug free regime works for you, then you are very lucky, but I hope you threw the paper prescriptions away and not the very expensive drugs.
I am surprised you did not discuss your difficulties with your doctor. That would allow him/her to consider other options. And like ChrissieMons I hope you did not throw those drugs away.
We are all different. I have been on prednisolone a few times now . It affects the quality of my sleep, but it is well worth it as I get better with them. And only yesterday I spoke to a cousin who has been on Montelukast/singulair for several years and she said it revolutionised her life for the better. But, as said, we are all different. The very same cousin can not tolerate Ventolin/salbutamol.
So good for you if you can cope with natural remedies, But that would not work for everyone.
Hi Geri, so sorry to hear you’ve had a bad attack. I know how it feels and I’m
In your shoes at the moment as well.
Just heading to A @E in a moment due to dreadful asthma attack. I know how it feels when you say you think your about to be a goner !
So here what’s important - stnbicort - does your specialist tell you to use it as a smart regime ? If so you can take it up to eight times a day but no more than two puffs at a time.
I’ve just changed from shmbicort to flutiform but when I knew my symptoms were getting worse I’d start by increasing the symbicort from 4 puffs a day to 8, thenif I still wasn’t ok I’d put in salbutamol and that’s when the alarm bells should ring as the next step is steroids and asthma attacks !!!
Can you see you asthma nurse at the surgery , they will help you with an asthma plan
I did discuss all the above with my doctor over the years thats why we went from symbicort 200 to 400 about 3 years ago , i even went to this asthma professor and all he can do is give tablets that make me dizzy and feel like crap( he changed me to sera tide that did nothing for me ) I dont like taking all these drugs (would take them if i did not feel like a space man on them ) but take my puffer regular i got 2 antibiotics and a dose of steroids and i was good for about two weeks but feel i am breathing a bit heavy again.
Worth going back to the specialist and telling them what works did you and doesn’t - I’ve had the same - I’ve come off theophylline , spiriva and Singlair as they were not right for me.
Thing is , it’s your body and your asthma - so learn about it for yourself.
I ended up in resus today due to having a huge asthma attack and currently in hospital . Remember asthma can kill you ! So stick up for yourself , learn what works and what doesn’t but don’t risk your life xxx
Well off soft drinks with 3 weeks off wheat with a week , My IBS is very good a pain in my side with over 30 years is very good , my asthma is still not great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
