Hi all

How is everyone?

I had my first Mepolizumab injection a week ago. I've felt very tired all week and feel like I'm getting a cold. I've also been feeling hot/cold but these have been mild rather than severe. Next one in 3 weeks time.

They say I may not notice any improvement until after the 3rd injection and I'll have 7 injections before they review whether to continue with them.

Hi, I too have Eosinophilic asthma, I have been on Mepolizumab since May 2017, I was swapped from Omalizumab that I had been on for 4 years before. After I had a bought of pneumonia in 2014 the Omalizumab seemed to stop working and I seemed to be going backwards and was having breathing problems and hospital admissions nearly every month. I have only had a couple of bad days since starting the Mepolizumab, the first was in the June I woke up coughing a lot and went to my GP started coughing, couldn't speak so he called an ambulance, I was nebulised in the ambulance and by the time I got to hospital things settled down and they sent me home. Then I had a couple of courses of AB's and a course of preds near Xmas as that's the time I'm usually ill.

I was also swapped from Ciclesonide & Formoterol to Fostair 200/6 which seems to have helped get my peak flows up.

I am also on Tioropium, Montelukast, Carbocistiene, Uniphyllin, Salbutamol, Esomeprazole, Simvistatin, Candesarten, Allopurinol, Amitriptyline.

Re your blue badge, my wife suggested that I should apply for one as my asthma is serious, but since being on Mepolizumab it seems in better control than it has been for years and I don't think I would get it. My wife has one because she has has both knees replaced, but she was refused when she went to renew it. We appealed and she has got it back but in the 2 months it took to get through I've had to re apply to register for congestion charge, residents discount, fast pay etc. and pay when we needed to use the car, so I would keep it and use it as it saves paying congestion charge and the parking rates in London.
