Itโs official! Iโm graduating with a 2.1 in osteopathy (integrated masters)! Itโs taken me 7 years (3 years more than plan due to my asthma spiralling out of control) but Iโve finally done it! ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐๐
Incredibly happy, although Iโm 80% sure that Iโm have/am getting a chest infection. Been having good old blue every 2-4 hours for the last few day and blamed it on stress/aniexty/weather. Last night I sounded like Nelly the elephant, I blew my nose so often and now my chest is tight and feels like my lungs are wrapped in cling film. Iโm struggling to keep at 55% PF ๐ but I feel ok if I donโt move - however it drops to under 50% on activity and I wheeze and huff like no tomorrow ๐ ๐ฌ! Iโve had no appetite today and Iโve just starting to cough tiny amounts of gunk up too ๐ท. Guess that instead of celebrating Iโll be at my GP tomorrow ๐๐ฉ.
Does anyone on Xolair know what I should do? I have my next injection on Friday; if Iโm on antibiotics do I need to cancel? What if it viral and none are given?
Iโm hoping that this is just stress relief and that Iโll be fine in a couple of days, but I donโt know the illness/injection protocol if itโs still around... ๐
Thanks a lot!

If youโre actively unwell or infected they wonโt give Xolair but go along and let them assess you. They will just delay a few days to a week and then give it though.
Ok thanks a lot! My doc wouldnโt commit to a diagnosis today - infection, virus or hayfever but given me antibiotics just in case esp as off food and was struggling to hit 50% PF with nebs last night - now up to 60% so yay ๐
I was in Xolair every two weeks for five years, just stopped a few months ago. In that time they only with held it once, you have to be proper poorly. Asthma being off on one doesnโt come into the equation itโs active infection so fingers crossed youโll get it.
Thanks thatโs what Iโm hoping, tho the one thing my doc could say was that my chest wasnโt wheezy so probs not asthma. It feels different to my asthma too... last time I felt like this I spent 2 months ill with a chest infection then unresolved asthma, and the time before I almost ended up in ITU but Iโm hoping that Iโm just being paranoid about it cause of the last 2 experiences ๐ ๐ค.
Thanks for your advice and experience! Only been on Xolair since Jan and whilst I have been asthma-ry on injection day I havenโt yet been properly ill... again hoping itโs a short term thing and that Iโll be fine on Friday! ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐
