Hello All,
I have just been prescribed Flutiform 125/5 and Clarithromycin (short term).
Just wondering if anyone has had good results from these? And that they are ok to take together.
Thanks,
Carl

Yes, they are fine to take together, the steroid part of flutiform will take a while to work= good luck!
Clarithromycin Is a good antibiotic for chest infections assuming your infection is definitely bacteria and not a virus. As you may know most chest infections suffered by Asthmatics are viral and antibiotics generally don't work for viruses (or fungal infections). That said the macrolide antibiotics (of which Clarithromycin is one) can confer benefits beyond anti-bacterial so might still offer some relief even if your infection is not bacteria. A Sputum Culture Test can confirm the presence of bacteria, but not viruses or fungal infections, however, now you've started a course of antibiotics it may not be worth consideration one unless infection persists beyond the end of the course. Hope you feel better soon.
