Salt lamps
Hi Andy I know a couple of people who have them and they said they are good am thinking of getting one myself it's meant to clear the air
Sounds good. Got to be worth a try and are not to expensive.
I have a salt lamp and use it when i am watching TV. After it has been on for 1/2hour I feel the air is better, it works for me 😀
You would need scientific evidence to say that theybwork. Otherwise u cud be wasting yoye money. We are very vunerable to buy these things since we are desperate to get help. I nearly bought a salt machine at £130 bur I contacted asthma uk site to ask would this work but they say they had no evidence of this. Please check it out before u spend yr money.
Yes I agree with you. There are so many sites selling them and bigging them up to get a sale. so I thought I'd ask around first to see if they are actually benefiting anyone. I've not heard a bad thing said about them yet.
We have a salt lamp a salt bowl and 4 salt tealight holders. They ionize the the air making the dust heavy and so making it better to breath. Not a bad idea to get a peace lilly as they are great for the air too. Not good for rabbits to eat though?
Look around for prices as they can be very varible.
Be Well
andy121, yes i have a couple of salt lamps & they do seem to make a difference to the atmosphere & they also create a cosy ambience. Of course some people are suspicious of them, as they are about anything that is not a pharmaceutical & has not been researched. Unfortunately most subsidised research doesn't happen outside of pharmaceuticals. Once upon a time it was claimed that herbs don't work, even though they are the ancient natural ingredients that medicine is based on. It was also claimed that people don't have auras, even though we now know that everything is surrounded by an electrical field. Just be aware that there are fakes out there, but you should be able to get a decent one from Amazon under £25 & they can be left on safely most of the day as long as they have a couple hours rest. They make a good night light too & look like a fabulous warm piece of art. The bulbs are only 15 watt & only need changing occasionally, so cheap to run. What's not to love? No I'm not an agent 😁
I have one, I love the light it gives off when it is on, it's is pretty and soothing. I'm not sure if it has made any difference to my asthma tho, my asthma is very unpredictable so it's hard to know if anything is making a difference.
Xxx
If you put salt lamp and safety into Google, you will find there are Safety issues concerning these items, with many being recalled. I recall reading something on here written be a qualified electrician as well saying they are not safe. I would be cautious and do some more research. I do not know if all of the makes are unsafe. Here is some info

Safety alert. Hope it helps you make a decision.
The lamps with safety issues were all made by ' Luminere', & is a minority problem, there are occasional fakes but most are made perfectly safely by reputable companies. If the wiring is sound & the bulbs good, there is very little that can go wrong with a lamp of any kind.
