Salt pipe ??
Just adding to your question: I Would also like to know which one works better for everyone.... The Original "Therapipe" salt inhaler or Himalayan salt inhaler?
Hi have you had a CT scan? This would show up anything wrong.
As for a salt pipe I have never tried it but have heard of others who have. Some say it works for them and others say it doesn't.
If you put your search term in the search box all previous posts and replies will come up. This has also been discussed in the British Lung Foundation. x
Hi yes had a ct scan but nothing .... I’m waiting on a forced sputum test to come through other than that I’m at a loss I’m not sure what to do I’ve even talked about leaving my job as I have so much time off work now
I tried a salt pipe for a couple weeks and I did think it was helping a little bit but I couldn't use it when I had an infection because it dries your throat out and just makes you cough more. So unfortunately I'd say you need to get to the bottom of the chest infections first. I've been in the same boat as you with reoccurring chest infections for nearly a year now. I've just had my preventative inhaler changed and finally I feel like I can breathe fully. I'm just waiting to see if the chest infection returns.
Hi there! I have a Himalayan salt pipe that I purchased a few weeks back when I was diagnosed out of the blue with Asthma... I’m really not sure if it works. I’ve been on one 7 day burst of prednisone and almost a month and a half straight of Asmanex corticosteroid. The wheeze is gone for the most part but still tight chested from time to time. Maybe once my inflammation goes down more, I can use it for maintenance.
I’d say definitely go back to your Gp, perhaps the meds you are currently on aren’t cutting it right now?
Best of luck!!
I've found the Himalayan salt inhaler to be good, salt kills bacteria and drys mucus. I don't know why proper trials haven't been carried out, salt is extremely cheap and readily available. I think any salt will work myself.
