cough!

My asthma not to good and constant asthma cough. Every time I cough now i get headache for seconds each cough. Pf was 500 and now 350. Steroids down to 1mg. Does anyone get a headache when having coughing fits ?

My pf crashes when off pred alot down to 250.Had pred 90 days and off last 1mg tomoz. Hospital consultant monitoring me for daily pred or neb but hope i can keep off them with 12 puffs of easyaler 3-4 hours.

I do not normally get headaches when coughing but recently I have been and I put it down to my hayfever.

sorry to hear bout you going downhill slitely again :S grrr...

re; cough and headaches, this is due to increased pressure in your head when your coughing... also it maybe due to little bit lower oxygen going to your brain when your coughing?

but i assume the first reason. increased pressure in your head cos of th repetitive coughing, leads to you having pain in your head for seconds to minutes with or without coughing but is due to the coughing..

I also get headaches when coughing and like asthmagirl think it is a combination of hayfever and asthma. Got lots of pressure in head due to congestion anyway and then coughing makes it worse.

Hi Glynis. I get a headache when coughing (mind you, after a few days EVERYTHING aches! loll) so I know how miserable you must be feeling. If it gets to the stage when it doesn't go away when I stop coughing I attack it with co-codomol which usually gets me several hours of pain free coughing. The good thing is that as the coughing eases off the headache vanishes like magic.
