just a quick question, also b4 i start dont wanna worry folks im not that symptomatic so im bein careful just thought id ask folks c if can get sum guidance and pos b ok by mon!
The last few days my peak flow has dropped so i am in my red zone all the time. I was dischared from hospital 13days ago wit a peak flow in my yellow zone so its been low on and off for a while! I did spend a few days in the green which was great but back down in the red again now!
Usually i feel properly unwell wen its low but im feelin ok really. Took extra steroids since wed and also upped nebs from 4 to 6 as per my plan. Got resp nurse round mon and got dr foning on mon too.
Anyone think there is anythin else i can do to help prevent another hospital admission.
Just so folks dont worry im not scared to do the 9's and if i feel rubbish or if it gets much lower i will go get help as its always best to get there then go home than b worse and really poorly. So will fone the green men if i need to just wanna try n stay outa costa if i can spent far far too long in there this yr.
Anyone any advice? Is it just this dam evil cold weather do ya think?
Dont have any medical answers, just thought I would sit here with you if thats ok as I am feeling somewhat the same, doubled symicort to max, taking vent and nebs all day long and pred and still feel crap but like you not ill enough (touvh wood - ouch that hurt my head lol) to go to a&e.
I am deffo putting mine down to the cold as its always the same every year and if no better by tomorrow will see gp.
Sorry i dont have an answer but hope you feel better soon

hiya,
sorry to hear other peoples peak flows are also dropping.
I was wondering if you could help me out...I suffered a very serious attack last month and after a lot of pred my peak flow increased back upto my normal 350. I have now caught a cough and my peak flow is down to 200...I went on my neb and it improved to 300 but after a couple of hours was back down to 200 again. I have a very important dance show in 10 days and rehearsals all week so i can't go to hospital as it means so much to me. Does anyone know if 200 would be classed as my red zone?
thanx
hugs to everyone

hiya claire
Wot ur red, yellow and green zones are are usually wrked out between ur consultants resp nurses and urself.
A general rule is ur personal best down to 80% of ur best is ur green zone. 50-80% of ur best is ur yellow zone and less than 50% is ur red zone.
Ive done sum maths for u and anythin less than 175 is ur red zone this is if ur best is 350 as u sed. This sed i know how important this nxt 10days is for u but if ur peak flows are a bit erratic and ur feelin breathless or symptomatic in anyway get in to see ur doc or con! U cant really go ahead wit ur busy wk-10days if ur not well-sorry! Please see ur dr if ur feelin unwell.
Hope u feel better soon but please b sensible - ur sailin quite close to the wind wit regards to peak flow at the bottom end of yellow zone! Id make a call to resp nurse or gp n c wot they say bout ur busy wk... Technically ur supposed to stay in ur green zone and not dip into the other two. Ur yellow zone indicates worsening asthma and ur not supposed to spend anytime in the red zone.
I hav other wierd factors involved wit my asthma so rely more on symptoms and i hav a lot of support from community nurses everyday during the wk so any concerning drop does get picked up on.
Hope this helped claire. Sorry to say id pos miss the events this wk. Ur health is more important n the rehersals everyday will take their toll on ur already not so gud lung function! Take it easy and do see wot the docs say they are the experts!
