I’m not sure what to do. Over the last month or so my peak flow has been gradually dropping but always within my green zone. I woke up this morning with a headache and had been shivering all night. My temp is slightly higher than usual by about half a degree (36.9c). My PF has just dropped into the amber at 76%. I feel a little wheezy but not excessively so. I’m sure not if this warrants I trip to GP or if I’ll be told the PF drop is possibly due to a virus. Any advice would be welcome.
Thank You, Jungle Chicken

No advice from me, just to say it sounds very similar to me. Slow pf drop, feeling unwell but nothing dramatic. Breathless. I booked a normal gp appointment which was cancelled last minute, but rebooked by them immediately with a nurse practitioner. Nothing found. Now, after 10 days plus things are improving, including my pf that dropped to 80% at worst. Still not well though.
The surgery was so helpful and careful. I even was given a f/u appt for safety’s sake. Do go to see them! Better be careful in a timely fashion.
Thanks Wheezycat. I’ve just checked my PF again and it’s about the same as this morning. My asthma plan says to increase the Seretide dose which I’ll probably do. If not better in 48 hours, I’ll see GP. It’s just with it being a gradual deterioration it has me concerned that it’s not just a virus causing it.
Yeah, if it is the same, and if it is a virus . I am still not sure, nor was the practitioner I saw. So I was listened to and checked from all angles, including bloods. Only my bp was high, but by the evening it was pretty low. And by now I am slowly recovering, very slowly. So seeing your post which sounds so similar makes me think it might be a virus. Perhaps. Mine, too, was a gradual start. And a bit weird.
My pf drops this time every year with a change in temperature however its dropped significantly this year... enough to concern the doctor and I have to go for a chest xray and spripmetory at my gp surgery
But I would say there is a lot going ound this time of year and if your at all concerned it's worth just getting it checked
But your peak flow shouldn't be amber for more than 24-48 hours without seeking attention (generally)
