Caught a cold last week that started on Monday and had me in emergency Wednesday and admitted on Thursday and Friday. Got squeezed in for an emerg appointment to see my GP Saturday arvo b/c the cold started to worsen again. She says it is pneumonia, but probably viral so instead of 4x a day ventolin/atrovent nebs I've had to increase to 6x a day ventolin/atrovent nebs. Plus doubled my dose of seretide and taking prednisolone.
I'm improving again, breathing is alright as long as I get up walking around the house, just staying in bed watching movies, doing some studying for uni.
Hope all of you are on the mend soon. Asthma and chest infections are the pits!
I have been fighting getting one! Hope I am winning as less tight chest today! Fingers crossed!!!
Chest Infections
I'd like to agree with what you've said there.
My chest becomes wheezy and very tight most times
however even more so within the Autumn and Winter months.
I'm always given antibiotics from my gp but, that doesnt seem
to work really.
All I do when I'm really bad is have 4 pillows puffed up and put
behind me which helps to ease my chest a little.
Then I double dose up on my inhalers.
If I'm any worse then I call a doctor out, hope that helps
you all.
Back again with the chest infection. Brittle asthma does that mean anybody blowing 220 that cant walk hardly, on steroids 40 mg a day. Well with me they say its copd and asthma. So many different ideas and potions its confusing, even anti biotics seem to vary. would love to hear from anybody who blows 220 and lives some where near a normal life. I have doubts in my diagnoses and get better imfo from this website. 220 is my best
