chest infections..

I have ANOTHER infection, & not sure what's triggering them fully. I have hayfever & I've been sniffly with that.. Could it be possible I'm sniffing & drawing stuff into my lungs & that's causing infection? Similar sort of thing happens when I've get colds, I sniff & end up with infection on my chest.. Fed up with them as its 3rd within a few weeks :/

Aw no. Have you had a sputum sample tested so know what antibiotics it's sensitive to? Could be you need longer course or different antibiotics. Sorry if this has been said already

Haven't had no tests done, no. Normally end up on a weeks worth of amoxocillin 500mg 3 times daily then a course of evil yellow ones which I can't remember the name of and can't be bothered moving to have a look for name. The yellow ones seem to clear it up, just make me feel worse while I'm on them.

Definately worth having it done then. Very easy and GP or even nurse should be able to sort it for you

Oh, Emma, you poor thing. You didn't even have time to get better from your previous infection!

I'm with TJ that it might be that it wasn't fully 'zapped' with the antibiotics that you were taking, and has come back again, rather than being a totally new infection. Go and get your GP on the case, and I hope you feel MUCH better very soon.

its horrible. mum seems to think pneumonia didnt fully clear up & all of my infections are linked in with that, tried convincing her it'd have got into my blood stream & id probably be dead if it was.. although not sure how having pneumonia active for over 6months works out. i'll ask about getting tested for it next time i go to doctors. getting fed up with infections & whatnot. mum seems to think ive built an immunity to amoxocillin from how much ive had recently.

Perhaps docs can check if ur nolonger responding to the antibotic, with their tests. I am praying the infections die down and your immunity gets stronger .

if u have needed multiple courses of pred - steroids that weakens ur immune system so makes u easily pick up infections etc...
