Following on from my previous post, thank you all for your replies and advice, all very helpful. I have to say that by doing the exercises given to me by the physiotherapist and by walking as much as I can, the pain has been reduced hugely, thank goodness. I'll keep on with those and see next year if I can face the inevitable. I'm such a coward!
