Sildenafil and methotrexate

Hi everyone

I am in need of some form of Viagra ( in this case low dose Sildenafil and although only a low 25mg tablet ) am wary of how Viagra and Methotrexate may work against each other or worse still ruin my already faltering health.

Has anyone had any experience with taking Sildenafil and methotrexate please ???

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Viagra is the brand name of the drug sildenafil. If you have been told of problems with Viagra the same will apply for sildenafil.

I take both, I do have problems with Methotrexate 7.5mg. Self injected but I’m told it is nothing to do with the Sildenafil 50mg. I have had to stop taking the S. recently. Owing to a new medication that clearly indicates that they should not be taken together. Luckily today’s Hospital appointment they have stopped this new Medication as it was lowering my blood pressure to much. The only problem I have had with S. is it tends to lower your blood pressure to far. If you go ahead and try it I would advise not to use it two days together until gaining some experience with any side effects. In my case the problem arose! As the results of a Prostrate operation about 25 years ago.

Thank you ATSFI will take your advice and not use on consecutive days.

Then just monitor the days after taking one tablet and see what happens.

Glad to know you can still go ahead and use Sildenafil so that you can continue to enjoy that side of life.

Thanks for your remarks, I currently are taking 26 tablets a day of various medications, now to less with the stop taking one beginning with E.

Hi, Can I please ask how you are getting on with Sildenafil and Methatrexate? I am on 20mg of Methatrexate by self injection and have just been prescribed Sildenafil 25mg.

Hi ChattyI never got to use the Sildenafil for one reason or another, so I have no experience with it to date.

There would be many on here that could answer that question though I am pretty sure !
