Vaccination names!

Hi, does anyone know for sure about the significance of the name given to the latest vaccination, I've heard/read that if it's called the third jab then you will be called for a booster next year, if it's called a booster its the final treatment unless things change for next year. I'm on Rituximab and my jab was named a booster, do I need to get the name changed?

I do realise they are both the same vaccination.

Thanks

Hi, I keep on reading about this confusing information about Covid19 vaccinations. I have had two and having a booster (third one) next week. The information out there is not clear and needs to be addressed. I'm hoping one of our member's will be able to clarify the situation.

Yes, the health professional at the surgery just told me they are the same jab, don't worry! I also do wonder if my surgery realise I am on the immunosuppressed list.

Do make sure your GP surgery knows you are so immune suppressed as it would seem not at the moment. So you are correct that you are entitled to a booster dose 6 months after the 3rd primary dose. So alert your GP that the jab you have just had will need to be recorded as 3rd primary dose in due course. All GPs received information about this problem in a communication from the NHS on 30th September.

This has been much discussed on the HU NRAS forum with links to all the relevant documents included in the posts.

Many thanks for confirming that. Yes, I will contact my surgery and make sure my immunosuppressant status is known to them. I will also search the NRAS for more info.

Many thanks for your help/reply.
