Question/Help with Covid "Booster" side effects???

Anyone have their 3rd "booster" for Covid yet and how did/do you feel? I had the Pfizer Vaccine (March) and within 3 days after my second shot, I've had Tinnitus since. NEVER had Tinnitus before so I KNOW it's vaccine-related. I really want to go for the booster shot (probably NEED to go as my kids are going back to school and I have a weakened immune system., BUT I am afraid that it will make my Tinnitus WORSE (if that is even possible). I can NOT shake the constant high pitch ring in my ears and in the morning (upon rising), I hear crickets. I went to an ENT Specialist of who said that they have been overwhelmed with complaints of this issue! Also, there is NO cure just possible help with Acupuncture, Sound Therapy, and/or hearing aids. I am just afraid getting a 3rd shot will increase the ringing.

Please, patrickd, read carefully the pages on the British Tinnitus Association website concerned with covid vaccinations and tinnitus. This could reassure you. Also, may I quote the following from a book on Tinnitus: "A change in life or health can sometimes be incorrectly associated with an event. T could have started naturally, without any cause, but because an event happened at a similar time your memory connections the two. And they may not be associated at all." So your T may have nothing at all to do with the jab. Certainly, my T had no discernible cause and trying to find a cause just give the T the chance to intrude even further into your life and thoughts.

You are correct that there's no "cure" as such, no magic pill. But there definitely are ways in which you can help yourself. Again, the BTA website is so helpful in giving you information about this.

Other posters here may give you help and advice.

Or you could contact the BTA helpline - they are really great people and very empathetic.

Thank you very much for the GREAT information. I did (at first) believe that maybe my onset of Tinnitus could be attributed to something else BUT it just is too odd that it kicked in like a light switch exactly 2-4 days after my 2nd Pfizer shot. Also, the ENT sort of contributed to the Tinnitus / Covid Vac relationship. They said that they have been "overwhelmed" with many people claiming Tinnitus after their 2nd Covid shot. I've been investigating and ALSO know that many, MANY people who actually had Covid now have Tinnitus so there is a definite relationship.

Q&A: Link between COVID-19 vaccination, tinnitus ‘worth looking into’

ADD TOPIC TO EMAIL ALERTS

Within a few hours of receiving his second COVID-19 vaccine dose in February, Gregory A. Poland, MD, a vaccinologist and director of the vaccine research group at the Mayo Clinic, knew something was not right.

Within about 90 minutes after receiving his second dose of an mRNA vaccine, he experienced the sudden and severe onset of tinnitus. He soon discovered that he had tinnitus, becoming one of at least 2,250 people who reported developing the condition following COVID-19 vaccination. The actual number may be higher, and a critical question is whether it is coincidence or causal, according to Poland.

The quote is: "The most generous explanation is that these are highly immunogenic vaccines, and they have among the highest reactogenicity rates of any vaccines that we give." The source of the quote is: Gregory A. Poland, MD.

He said it is time for federal health agencies to examine the COVID-19 vaccine-tinnitus link, although he acknowledged that the FDA and CDC are “overwhelmed with the amount of data” they are receiving regarding vaccination.

However, he said the association is still “worth looking into, because whenever a group of people raise an issue, it is on us as vaccinologists and public health practitioners to answer that question as part of the long-term process of building trust.”

You could try taking half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda- baking soda in US , twice a day to make your body more alkaline which should help

Interesting. I just might give that a try. I am taking Lipoflavonoids but no success at all!

Personally - when I had my second jab the T retreated into a corner, somewhat beaten up. Cause I was so happy to be jabbed. I take the point on board that there’s some concern about the relationship between Covid and T.

No-one would think to report via the yellow card scheme that their T had improved after vaccination.

Some young women are saying that they don’t want the jab because it could adversely affect their fertility. But of course it might have the opposite effect - we just don’t know!

True. I just honestly (being a person who had major fertility issues) that a vaccine would cause this but who knows. I believe any ANY medication or vaccine will or can cause unwanted side effects.

Of course you’re absolutely right. Anything you put in your body has an effect, whether positive or negative.I take quite a lot of medication for different things. I tell myself - rightly or wrongly - that my body should be manufacturing these things itself and isn’t, so I have to supplement. This is how I justify it to myself to keep me calm and centred. An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

I really like your way of thinking. We really don't have the luxury of choice (like healthy people) other than to take or not to take really.
