Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone knows what food to remove from your diet as I have heard from some people that it has a lot to do with causing flares with your condition and some say certain foods removed can help you

There are often articles in the media about this kind of thing. I always think that you should only take information from trusted sources, like the charities whose focus is on helping people with this disease.A diet that takes in plenty of fruit and vegetables and is balanced - so that you’re not eliminating important micronutrients from your diet - is the way to go.

I do find cutting sugars from my diet helps somewhat. I tried keto and felt quite a bit better but it's hard to stick to.

Hi Drifty,I get flares directly after eating sugar, milk, wheat, tomatoes, aubergines. If I get a flare I either fast for 8 to 10 hours, or eat only raw fruit veg (blue berries, carrots, celery etc) or go on a boiled diet for 3 days, eggs, potatoe, greens etc. Mostly plant based.Food has definitely made a difference for me, rarely get flares now as opposed to 1 a month.

No pain killers and no RA meds now, just 2.5mg prednisolone (also soon to wean off too)

Main cause was stress, leaky gut and wrong foods.

You will need to experiment and see which works for you, but sugar, milk, yogurts, wheat has to be cut out completely, no chocolates, biscuits, sweeteners, fizzy drinks too!

Good luck!
