Woke up today completely sore head to toe. Like I’d been beaten all night or did a lot of exercising the day prior (which I didn’t). Wondering if it is arthritis? It has been extremely humid, with rain and thunderstorms last night. I was diagnosed 14 years ago in just my thumb. Now my big toe hurts too. Today I’m so tired and can barely move! My grandmother had severe rheumatoid arthritis. Dad had scleroderma. I’m in my 50’s now but never felt like this previously. Any ideas?

Do I have arthritis?
Osteoarthritis started in my right knee. Now it is in both shoulders, the right being the worst. When humidity is low, say around 55% I am free of pain. When it is moist and damp and humidity up in excess of 92% I am in pain. I can also predict a weather change coming long before it gets to me, i.e. from dry to wet.
There has been some research on this, called “Cloudy with a Chance Of Pain” which concludes that yes weather does affect pain.
The weather yesterday, at least here in sussex, was exceptionally humid - air pressure affects one’s perception of pain as well as temperature.
Let’s hope you feel better soon.
Hi Art3 , sorry to hear you're feeling sore at the moment.
We'd recommend speaking to a GP or healthcare professional about how you're feeling, as they can give their advice based on your background and personal history.
In the meantime, it may be worth reading about arthritis so that you're aware of what it is, and some of the ways you can manage the painful symptoms if it does turn out to be arthritis. Our website and YouTube pages have more information which could be useful for you, and help reduce the soreness you're feeling.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on!
I have RA and when it's in full flare I feel exactly like I have been beaten and kicked all night. The tiredness fits as well. I take it you are not being treated atm and suggest you see your rheumatologist.
