Hello bonniemillie12 You seem a bit distressed. This is forum where we can share tips about our problems. We are not going to be able to help you get a hospital appointment, though. can you phone the consultant’s secretary to find out what the waiting time is? Or your local Commissioning Group May know what’s going on.

Hi Bonniemillie. What is the op. for?

Speak to hospital Dr’s Sec. state you are in acute pain etc. State u want to speak to Dr. (Is he/she a specialist in your Condition)?

As you have been informed that James Cook is Not doing ops, Ask for a referral to

a hospital that is. Not all hospitals are working under the same condition, depending where you live. If necessary, ask for a transfer to hospital in an area where Covid 19

is low risk. Living with acute pain, when there is a solution, canbe anightmare.

The NHS have a responsibility to provide help in acute cases, which can include

transfer to other parts of country.

Insist on receiving help. Yes, our NHS are in Crisis, & have been staffed by v good

people. Your priority is getting help ASAP.

Hi again my situation is the same as yours but mine is the knee . Bone on bone can eventually put you in a worse position with more work needed at operation time , which does not help anyone does it?I hope you soon get things sorted, but private hospitals are being used for NHS purpose too at the moment to reduce their waiting lists. At least you know your not alone. Its a disaster for arthritis sufferers.

Yes , you are not alone . Most of the west Midlands is the same. No physios here either so lack of aftercare if you do have operation. I spoke to the hospital on the phone & email and it said no go ahead for orthopeadic routine ops. Been advised to concentrate on keeping myself as fit as I can till things change. Told I am top of the list as soon as things get going. So it might be worth you contacting your hospital or Pals as individual areas can vary. My hospital & area are quite low on virus cases. Know this is not what you want to hear but it is not giving you false hope either. My Gp upped my pain killers as the op is my only option . Try your local MP to highlight the position of the chronically ill waiting for treatment or join Versus Arthritis campaign for better care. Details should be on the website. Chin up maybe things will change soon, I definately hope so as I am unable to leave the house because of this. My thoughts are with you & shared. I am not depressed just fed up of being way layed and left to suffer like you say.

Hi there, sorry you are in such pain and distress. I am in Scotland, waiting on knee replacement. There's no news here yet on a start date for elective surgery . I hope your appointment goes well and you get your operation soon 🙂
