Hi, I am new to this community. I am 69 and have arthritis in my thumb and my middle finger (both hands), also stiffness in my big toes. As I am on lifetime warfarin I'm loth to take medication that may effect my INR levels. I use gels and rubs that help temporarily but wondered if anyone in a similar position has any advice. Thanks.

Stiff fingers and toes
I have the same problem too jackdaw50. I've tried so many gels, have had cortisone injections but all short-lived. I have got really good gadgets to help remove jar lids and tin lids but wish there was something more to ease the pain. Maybe somebody on the forum has a remedy to help.
Keep cheerful if you can.

I have arthritis in my big toes such that they don’t move at all. Hallux rigidus, it’s called. Whilst I do take pain killers - for other reasons - when I moisturise my body after my morning shower I waggle the big toes in a circular motion each way, then figure of eight. Though they don’t move far. This helps.
Also, holding onto the back of a chair, I rise onto my toes five times (OW!!).
Other than that I take glucosamine with chondroitin.
I appreciate you are wary about taking many medication but a chat with your pharmacist might help?
