Hi folks.

Over 2017/18 i was finaly diagnosed with Spondyloarthropathy at 35, after many years of spine cramps, rib, hip, knee, jaw and other parts being in pain and swollen. Since January this year aches and niggles have been pestering me. All bloods are coming back fine. Iam on benepali, sulfasalazine, lodine and cocodamol 30/500.

Over the last few weeks 2 of my toes are throbbing, stiff and look a little mis shaped, the soul of my right foot is tender in the morning. But during the night im being wakend with severe cramping in my calfs. It was the right to begin with, now its altering between both legs. Im not sure if the cramps are connected to my the foot issues

Has any 1 gone through this. Im really struggling with it. Every morning i just think about not getting up for work or anything really.

Thanks

Hi,

At the age of 74 I do suffer from cramp all over my body, leg cramp at nights, I use very light bedding, this helps.

Hands and fingers after using tools, very bad this can happen after using tools at any time.

Toe cramp another one. I have not taken any medication, just wait for the cramp to release.

If I bend down to put my shoes on I get cramp on both side of my stomach.

When I get leg cramp, I jump out of bed and stand till the cramp release. I do not know if there is any medication, I have not seen a doctor to ask any questions.

Take car.

You could try magnesium supplements for cramp...or good old fashioned Epsom salts bath, or footbath.

May I suggest you contact your medical team and tell them about your problem so you can get proper advice. Perhaps your medication needs tweaking.Good luck.

I suffer with cramps. Mainly in legs and feet. It’s been bad recently. I got my thyroid level checked out (on Levothyroxine). It was normal. I might try Magnesium tablets. Hope you get some respite as I know how horrid it is, and tiring. Please let us know if you get a remedy. Do you drink enough water?

My husband has a similar arthritis to yours. He gets leg cramps. He takes (amongst other things) magnesium which helps back pain but it doesn’t affect cramp in his case.Definitely talk to your medical practitioners but also have a word with your pharmacist as they might have some ideas.

Also there’s a website for spondylitis sufferers. Google NASS. There might be some advice there.
