I had a serious hand injury last year. I had my 3rd, 4th, 5th metacarpal dislocated from playing rugby.
Went to surgery for reduction. 7 weeks off and recovered quite well. But the 5th metacarpal started to grow a “ball” on the base of the bone to the point it’s so painful.
Yesterday I tripped whilst walking around the field I live (wet grass) The pain was atrocious on my hand. And when touching the “ball” it’s really painful.
Just don’t want to bother the NHS for that, nor my GP.
What could it be due?

The NHS are encouraging those with non-Covid related conditions to visit their GPs, to ensure that those who need treatment will receive it. You are in pain, ring your GP or hospital consultant as soon as possible. Take care, and stay safe. 😊
Do phone your GP surgery. There are several regions that have walk-in “ fracture” clinics and that is all they deal with so should be quick to be seen and they are not dealing with a Covid-19 or A&E department. Your GP surgery should be able to advise if there is one near you. Hope you get seen quickly.
Hi tyfab14 , sorry to hear about the pain you're experiencing.
We'd definitely recommend talking to a healthcare professional if you're worried about the pain you're feeling. You could ring your GP to see if they have availability, or ring 111 and ask for their advice if you don't want to leave the house. They can then advise on next steps.
