Osteoarthritis - treatments, surgery and support.

Hi I’m new to this site. Further to having cancer treatment I have been diagnosed with erosive osteoarthritis and I’m suffering really badly with my finger joints. Further to seeing an orthopaedic surgeon and also a rheumatologist I have become a little disheartened by the treatment options, or rather the lack of.

I use my hands a lot with my artwork and the thought of losing the ability to do my art and hand function is scaring me considerably. I feel like none of my doctors understand the impact of not just the cancer but the impact of the treatment on my bones, and wher I can go from here.

I’m desperately trying to find alternative options to having joints fused, and fellow sufferers who do understand the way I’m feeling and not just dismiss my concerns.
