Happy New Year everyone. This is my first time being in this community. Just want some kind of opinion. Both my shoulders have been hurting since this summer. It's hurts while in motion and cold weather is bad. It's hurts for me to put my bra straps on my shoulders. My doctor gave me the Diclofenac 75mg. I took it for 3 months it seem to be working then I guess my body got use to them. I can't even lay down on my shoulder. I've been sitting up for 4 to 5 months sleeping. I'm really desperate. Please any help with be appreciative. Thanks inadvance.

Has your GP done any blood tests to check for PMR might be worth pushing for one. Have you tried heat I have a shaped bag that goes on my shoulders, this one might sound daft if possible only sit on high backed chairs, I was lucky that I could get hubby to lift things from oven , grandson age 11helps change bed £1extra pocket money.
Take a look at the PMRGCA page on this site lots of great people on there
Thanks for responding Olive 2709. I have to ask what is a PMR? thanks for the website going to check it out. I was also thinking of herbal solutions. What do you think about that?
It may be worth discussing an orthopaedic assessment with your gp , have you had x-rays ?
Thanks for responding. I have taken a x-ray. They found nothing. But I got an appointment with an orthopedic on the 23rd of this month. Im still having pain. My doctor prescribed Diclofenac 75mg. I had taken it for 3 months. It worked for a while. Then the pain came back. Do you have any advice on how to deal with the pain in the meantime? Thanks so much.
I had muscle damage years ago and had severe pain eventually had decompression surgery on shoulder and after long period of Physio i ened up pain free in shoulder . It all depends on the cause , heat or acupuncture is another alternative. I hope you get it under control xxx

It sounds as though you might have either bursitis or tendonitis? I would self-refer to the NHS physios and get an assessment - if it is either then exercises may help more than meds but also physios tend to know which meds help best with joint problems. x
