Post hip replacement

Hi everyone

I had a left total hip replacement last Thursday and was discharged Sunday evening. The surgery went well, however, I'm still in a lot a pain. I also have fibromyalgia and have been warned my recovery may take longer than most.

I would really appreciate others experienceso, particularly if they have fibro too

I am pleased, I had mine done on Thursday and was discharged Saturday! That was May 2014

Our problems were the stockings and the injections round the waist for a month.

I took pain killers for 6 weeks post op.

I agree about the stocking and the injections, I don't relish the thought of stabbing myself in the stomach for the next 6 weeks.

I'm still on all the painkillers I was on pre op and most definitely need them

I am going to have a left hip replacement in two weeks' time. Getting very nervous as the time gets nearer!

Understandable to be nervous.......fear of the unknown I think.

If you want to ask me anything, please feel free.

I'm one week post op and already I can tell it's going to be great once the surgery site and surrounding tissues etc have healed.
