Methotrexate dosage increased from 4 pills 2.5mg one day a week to 6 pills 2.5mg one day a week, prednisone dosage decreased from 10mg to 7.5mg & omeprazole 20mg I have been feeling like I can't catch my breath since this change. I went to CityMd & they said my vitals were fine. They think it's possible gas, anyone else ever feel like this? I also feel like pain in right hand, upper arm & bottom of right foot has intensified.

I was on methotrexate pills for 5 weeks when I got really bad throat (like Id swallowed a marble) and breathing problems. I contacted rheumy department at the hospital and they told me to stop methotrexate immediately. Two years later I was put on methotrexate injections and the same thing happened again so I stopped them straight away. I was then discharged from rheumy because the rheumatologist said she was retiring and I had to be treated by my gp. Speak to a doctor as soon as you can as it could be a side effect..

As you GP eliminated other possible causes for your breathing problems? There are some types of arthritis which can affect breathing in various ways, for example causing inflammation in the pleural spaces. I would not blame the medication until other causes have been eliminated. However my wife as Psa and was on Methotrexate 20mg im. Since stopping her breathing as improved. But as she is also asthmatic her breathing improvement could have been due to other factors.

My GP did a EKG & heart sonogram which came back fine. My rheumatologist sent me for a chest X-ray this morning

I had my chest x-ray & have developed a really tiny lung nodule. The lung nodule is benign & there is no inflammation in my chest. They want me to start taking my omeprazole again think the acid is causing my problems right now.
