Forsteo ( teriparatide) is a bone formation agent. It's a synthetic version of the human parathyroid hormone, which is involved in the metabolism of calcium and phosphorous. It basically mimics the effects of the human hormone and increases bone formation.

Obviously it has demonstrable benefits.

Without sounding patronising, drug side-effects are funny things: us humans are very subjective: after reading the drug advice leaflet, we often decide we have all the side-effects preferably before taking the drug!

The most common side effect is aches and pains. It can also cause postural changes to blood pressure. Go with it and see what happens. Any problems, see your doctor.

Hi Yes, I had been on these injections for almost five years . I never found any problems, once you learn to inject yourself daily I never had any side effects . The service from the drug supplier was good.Always arriving on time and refrigerated , The consultant finally took me off medication as it didn't work for me bone wise (the bone was still fragile) it should have been greatly improved in five years. Hope it works for you. Good luck
