Opportunities at APP are they very rare?

Hello there, I would like to get more involved with APP to obtain training with them and eventually go into some sort of expert by experience work. Do any of the APP staff and volunteers have any suggestions as to how I could do this?

I recently saw a harrowing story of a mum who'd had a very traumatic birth and a Conservative lady MP who'd experienced similar.

The lady had then gone on to become an expert by lived experience and I have no idea how to get into this.

We no longer live near the hospital where my son was born where I had the horrendous care.

Hope you can help with some suggestions.

Jo

Hello Jo,

Thank you for posting, I hope you're doing ok.

You can read about the ways you can get involved with APP on our website here: app-network.org/get-involve...

Any jobs that come up would be advertised on the following page and shared on our social media channels: app-network.org/about-us/jobs/

There may be opportunities with your local NHS to become an expert by experience, it might be worth an internet search specific to your local NHS trust/region to find out who to contact and make some enquiries. There may be forum members who have got involved with their local NHS in this way who can share some of their experiences.

I hope this helps a bit.

Best wishes,

Jenny x
