Raising money for APP

β€’9 Replies

Hi all. I haven’t written on here for a while but I would just like you all to know that I started back running πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ on the 1st January initially to try and raise money for the Mind charity. I’ve since had a rethink and I would like all my donations to go to the APP charity. I would ideally like a T shirt to run in so if anyone knows who I contact for this please let me know. I will be running everyday in January and I have copied the link to my go fund me page below. Thanks once again for your continued support. Many thanks πŸ™ Beth x x

Hi Beth,

Thanks so much for supporting APP like this :)

You can find information about fundraising for APP on the website at app-network.org/fundraising...

You can email fundraising@app-network.org to request a free t-shirt and other items that are available :)

Good luck and keep us posted!

Can I just say how gorgeous this photo is? What an inspiring post! Do share the sponsorship link etc when you have it πŸ‘πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Ps Mind are a wonderful charity too but yes they do get some huge amounts of grant funding - at a small charity your hard earned money will make a huge difference! X

Hi Kat, many thanks for your reply. I have started to feel much better and running has helped. I made a conscious decision to work hard at looking after myself this year and have also been trying very hard to come off the medication which although helped me has had a detrementl effect on my weight. I decided to run πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ everyday in January to help my mental and physical health. I was always a physical person before becoming unwell so it seemed the right thing to do. Raising money for APP while doing this seemed the right thing to do. I have suffered for two years but now feels like the right time to move on and do positive things x x thanks also for the comment on my photo. This was taken just before my daughters second birthday party which went fantastically well. I made a point of being positive and happy for her as I was in a very dark place when I hosted her 1st birthday party. The link to my go fund page is at the bottom of my original post but have posted it on this reply also. Thanks once again x

X Beth

Hello bethanylj

So good to hear from you. What a lovely picture on your page with your daughter whose the image of her brilliant mum!!

I'm really pleased that you are feeling much better and have found running a positive step forward in your recovery. It's good to hear that ECT was a turning point for you as it was also a game changer for me many years ago.

Take care ...... PP mums really are amazing :)

Hello bethanylj,

the only way is up; so happy for you that your health is improving and subsequently you are able to use your experiences as a set mile stone and build on new experiences;

After PPP (2010) and five years (end of 2015) on I found APP who supported my initiative in running an art exhibition and raising awareness of PPP and the organisation APP in Somerset in 2016.

It was quite an experience and extremely overwhelming as I needed to confront my fears and anxieties. I was very tired after the exhibition and was emotionally and physically pretty run down. I guess I would like to highlight this experience in order for you to understand that there might be limitations and you need to tune into your body:

1. It is something you want to do, not because of other people's expectations.

2. You will be able to feel enriched in helping and supporting others and re-gain new skills and/or work on personal goals such as confidence boosting, improving your self esteem and learning to socialise again, as it was in my case.

Be kind to yourself...

Do not pressurise yourself or aim for far fetched targets...

I live with the momentum and all in stepping stones...

Wishing you the best of luck! It always helps to have a focus.

Happy new year...you have come a long way....

x

Hi bethanylj

It was lovely to read your post, and inspiring that you are running regularly, I’ve heard from so many people that this really helps them.

And thank you so much for raising money for APP, we are so touched... we’re such a small charity with limited funds and any money raised really does get used well and goes directly to help families... huge thanks...

Ellie

Hi all. I’ve moved my funding page to just giving as the money will then go straight to APP and will be better for tax purposes x x

Will try and forward the link now x x ❀️
