Hi Kayleigh,

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling like this. I felt like this without the tablet! I would be walking the dog and suddenly think that my heart was just going to stop. I felt like this for weeks and still get that sudden panic. The way I overcame this was to take my pulse every so often. I found it was always a good heart beat (60-80 beats per minute) I soon started to realise I was fine. Every morning, I woke up and I wasn't dead. (As morbid as that sounds) so I knew I was just creating something in my head.

I'm sure you will be fine with the tablets although I know the thoughts you are having are scary. If you have taken the tablet and you are feeling OK, think positive :)

x

Hi Kayleigh

I feel the same all the time.that something bad is going to happen, and I don t even know what exactly.don t feel guilty for your daughter, just accept the situation that u have at the moment and at little steps u will get better..it takes time to recover.i used to feel a failure for my family but it wasn t helpful st all, just make me feel bad.but we have to get better so be kind to yourself.Cbt helped me a lot, didn t even want to go outside my front door!citalopram does work and soon u will feel better,if u can have counselling or cbt with it even better....;-)u can do it!!

Hi Kayleigh,

So sorry to hear of your struggles. Things do sound really intense. But you are not this anxiety and you have people here to support you.Hard as it may be to picture it right now, you will recover as people do everyday.

If it helps, I have taken several anti depressants/anti anxiety drugs in the past, including the one you have been prescribed. I had very similar worries to the ones you have about reactions etc,esp as i have long standing high blood pressure. But nothing happened, sure i had some side effects but nothing like what I feared.Thats the thing to remember, anxiety by its very nature it magnifies fears tenfold because your brain is on constant high alert. Talk with your GP of course too, but hopefully you can keep going and find a medication that works for you.Good luck.
