Withdrawal Symptoms

Hello! I am running out of my 20mg Lexapro pills and I am having a hard time getting my primary Dr to refill. They want me to get the refill through a Psychiatric Dr. I tried to make an appointment with the one I used to see but since it’s been 6 months since I have been to their office they won’t prescribe unless I make an appointment and they can’t get me in for more than a week. I only have 3 pills left so withdrawal will kick in. I wanted to stop taking anyway but I am afraid of the withdrawal. Since I am going to run out anyway I figured I would just stop anyway. Any tips on dealing with the withdrawal? If neither of my Drs seem to care that I am going to run out and go through withdrawal then why not just stop??

Can you ask the doctor for a partial refill? Doctors have done that for me in the past.

If you are going to stop taking it, it is best to taper down.
