Dang!!!! Thanks for sharing. Oof.

So, it’s basically saying an avoidance response to fear is based off the assumption that the longer I’m in the situation, the greater my fear becomes.

If I avoid the situation, then I’m managing the fear. I am trying to get some sense of relief. I believe the fear is smaller.

But lol, that’s incorrect. For most things, the longer I avoid confronting the problem, the worse confronting the problem feels to me. I feel worse the longer I postpone what I need to do and only feel solace when I forget about it briefly or finish the task.

Um, but, there are situations where like avoiding has helped me. So. I have to say, that there are time when temporary avoidance is beneficial and it can be a tool that should be used.

That’s actually correct what you said, you pretty much said the same thing different ways, that avoiding it “manages” the fear, makes you feel relief, and at the same time causing the fear of fear to grow stronger, and harder when you try to confront it because you’re avoiding it. If it’s avoidance that benefits in the sense of real literal danger and not just because you’re afraid of what you would feel Panic/symptoms so you’ve deemed it not “safe” then of course avoiding is good wether you’re dealing with an anxiety disorder or not, if that’s what you meant I’m not sure.
