I’m sorry

I think this is my third post of the day. I’m sorry, but I need to put my words somewhere because it doesn’t feel the same on paper. You guessed it, I had an anxiety attack. I think I may be dissociating at times because I’ve had several like this- everything gets all bright and everything looks fake, I get this horrible feeling that something bad is going to happen, it almost feels out of body like any second I’m gonna snap out of reality and lose it all, my brain is mush. Like I’m gonna pass out or go crazy, literally. I cry because I get so scared thinking “this is it.” I can’t put it into words. Then after a while everything slowly turns back to normal.. still anxious- but more present and able to converse with others without being angry or rude.

anon, I may not be a doctor but feel that it might have to do with

you not breathing correctly...Because of your fears, you may tend

to hold your breath or breathe too shallow making you experience

everything becoming bright, feeling as if everything is unreal and worried

that you may lose it at any moment.

Once that feeling happens, you go into an anxiety attack because you get

terrified. However, what happens before that needs to be addressed to

prevent the anxiety attacks from happening.

Because you are pregnant, hormones can also play into this. Chemistry changes

in a pregnant woman. If you are as "tight as a top" all day, there is no way you

are breathing normally which is not allowing oxygen to efficiently get to your

brain. This is turn can start the feeling of unreality and dizziness.

Tomorrow definitely call your midwife and explain to her how often this happened

today. I hate seeing you going through this daily which only brings down your stamina.

It's emotionally and physically draining for you. :) xx

Anon99 ,Hi I was given some great advice from Agora regarding breathing, I carry a paper bag every where i go so when I see I'm going to have an attack I am ready. I get the attacks really badly and often end up in hospital for heart checks, i found out from one checkup that I have an erratic heartbeat, so breathing properly is really really important!

I know this is a strange thing to say but 100% of deaths are due to lack of Breathing😉 I hope my little bit of humour was acceptable.

Hi Anon,

Have you tried box breathing? It’s better than the paper bag (which is great for some). Box breathing not only decreases the oxygen levels and raised CO2 (which relaxes your muscles) it also diverts your brain from helping you panic.

Box breathing - slowly breath in over a count of 4. Hold your breath for four. Exhale over 4, hold for 4, breath in over 4 and keep repeating. Imaging all your stress slowly being breathed out and calmness being breathed in.

Let us know how you go.

Hi. No, I haven’t. It’s difficult for me to practice deep breathing because I feel like I will pass out and die.. but I am trying it more and more it’s usually when I’m in full panic mode I can’t do it. My mind goes straight to survival mode..

I do appreciate your advice. Ty. :)

Firstly - don't apologies you have nothing to say sorry for. Your apology reminded me of the first and only time I went to see a councillor....During my journey to see them I must have looked at my watch a dozen or more times..."OMG I'm cutting this fine - I'm going to be late".....I dashed into the waiting room and said ' "I'm sorry I'm Late"...."...but you're not late said the councillor".....We went on to discuss my problem and at the end of the session he said that he knew my problem as soon as I walked in when I'd apologised for being late when I was actually on time.....He told me that I was putting myself down for no reason and that I should love myself more and stop worrying about things that don't matter....and that was me in a nutshell....I didn't need a 2nd appointment ......xx

Hey ;)

I totally understand how you Feel, I suffer from anxiety all the time, literally 24/7, Also with derealization, hypochondria and a lot of other things.

My point is that you should take care of yourself right now, before it gets worse, try meditate, eat well, sleep well and try to remind yourself that it’s all on your head, it’s not real and YOU ARE NOT IN DANGER!

Stay well😁
