3 weeks on Sertraline (25mg)

Hi, Ive now been on sertraline 25mg for three weeks. I’m aware that the dose is small but I’ve been experiencing a real feeling of fatigue and being completely run down. I have aches in my muscles and feel very absent and distant. In a weird way, my anxiety which was causing me so many physical symptoms at the start have kind of gone away/reduced significantly which is great obviously. But I’m now concerned that the side effects, mainly insomnia( really bad sleep the last 10 days) and general aches and pains which are very distracting. Abdominal cramps have increased also. Is this normal for such a small dose to be causing side effects and particularly 3 weeks into treatment. I’m just praying that I start to feel better soon and just want to know if anybody else has experienced this before?

To give some context, I was recently diagnosed as suffering from health anxiety which was manifesting itself as some strong physical symptoms mainly chest discomfort and pressure. After lots of tests and exams I was given the all clear and Drs saying I am extremely healthy and have no underlying health concerns. Heart is healthy and so is the rest of my organs. So they suggested starting sertraline.

As I’m three weeks in I’m going to persist and hope for the best.

Yes I can definitely relate and I also struggled with sleeping when I first started taking sertraline however after a couple of weeks I started sleeping really well. Im now almost 5 months in and really glad I persisted with the initial side effects
