Stress seizures

Hi,

I suffered an ectopic pregnancy 7 weeks ago and for the first 10 days after I got home my anxiety got to intense that I started getting stress seizures. Like my brain was just so Overloaded with fear (I have had mild and manageable anxiety all my life, 36 now) I don't know what caused this, I suspect it was the anastethic but just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this through having anxiety.

It's been a terribly frightening experience and now I am pretty much housebound through having constant anxiety.

Sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy. I had a miscarriage earlier this year and had to have surgery .This definitely set my anxiety sky high for a good while after. I think hormones also play a role as you get a sudden drop in hormones x

I’m very sorry for you. I had an ectopic pregnancy many years ago but went on to have 2 healthy children. Surgery (and especially emergency surgery) will often trigger a psychological reaction. The choices are to go with it and wait it out or to see your doctor and explore whether an antidepressant or counselling may help. I wish you well 😊
