Anyone get quite breathless when doing something if anxious ?

Lauriem4, I think if you are getting breathless when anxious, and I certainly am aware of doing so, one way is to stop what you are doing, speak to yourself and say a quiet mantra such as

'Calm, Laurie, be calm, just be still a moment, all is well.....'

I often find that this does help. Good luck.

Hi Lauriem4, I agree with wingsofadove in that using a quiet mantra will allow you

to calm your thoughts as you are doing something. I find myself holding my breath

when anxious as I go up steps or do something strenuous. With that comes

breathlessness. It's a part of our anxiety disorder. :) xx
