Hi you guys, I’ve been doing a little better with my anxiety but last night it’s like I took 5 steps back. I looked at some old lab work I had done 8 months ago, and my kidney function (gfr) was higher than my most recent lab work. It was 138 in October of last year. Now it’s 133 as of June. I’m totally freaking out because I think I have early stage kidney disease especially since protein has been detected in my urine. I really want to think positive but my catastrophic thoughts are getting the best of me.

Ask your doctor what is going on and consider seeing a nephrologist
I have kidney problems as I had a blockage I have protein show in my urine but I do not have kidney disease x
Jones567, you had a small trace of bilrubin in your tests which your doctor tells you is not significant, and your kidney function is stable and showing a slight improvement. You should be greatly relieved but instead you're freaking out.
This is anxiety whispering in your ear and OVER RULING your doctor. So you have a decision to make: who do you believe, your doctor or your anxiety who as you know is always inflicting fake health worries on us when in fact we're doing fine?
My gfr has decreased that’s not good. It was 138 which is really good but now it’s 133 which is good too but it’s a slight decrease since October of 2017 and to top that off I had 30mg of protein in urine, small bilirubin and 15mg ketones. Which my doctor states this can happen from not eating. In which I did go through a stage of not eating. Maybe on small meal a day if that. I’m just freaked out. I hope it’s the anxiety and not hepatitis or kidney disease!!
O.k., so those test readings can be caused by not eating and you did go through such a stage. That could be the reason. We all get the colley-wobbles from time to time when test results aren't exactly what they should be but I think you must take into account that your doctor isn't concerned about your test results. This is not because he or she is neglecting you or is incompetant. But I think you should go talk to your doctor and discuss your fears - maybe write down 6 questions to ask so you cover all your concerns. I wish you well.
