Paroxetene

Been suffering terrible anxiety since January. Just relented and increased my Paroxetene from 20mg to 30mg. Does anyone know how long this is likely to take to work? I originally went on Paroxetene 20mg for mild to moderate depression over a decade ago. The only time I've ever suffered from anxiety before was when I tried to come off the Paroxetene about five years ago. Eventually I couldn't bear it anymore and went back on it. However, this bout of anxiety hit me out of the blue, for no known reason. I'm hoping that a slightly higher dose might help. Does anyone have any similar experience. Would be grateful to hear from anyone with any thoughts on the subject. Thanks.

Hey Jud, well the good news is you should start feeling better soon the med your on can take about three weeks for full affect. However, and I don't say this do from an uneducated point of view. I am a nurse aide and also suffer from panic disorder with depression,PTSD agoraphobia. It sounds like you maybe are in need of something else to help you with your anxiety. Most people think that there should be an obvious reason or situation for there anxiety, but the truth is very often times there isn't or it can be stirred up from issues long past. I hope you get feeling better soon.

I upped my dose of paroxetine last year & it took about 2 weeks to take effect. I was on the same amount for 20 years so think I just needed that extra kick to get me back to my happy place. I wish you all the best.

Did you go from 20mg to 30mg?....and have you stayed on the higher dose, or come back down again?

I went from 40mg to 50mg I’m now back on 40mg x

Do you have trouble with insomnia, I'm on 150Mg & insomnia is terrible!
