I just started on Lexapro but I don’t know if I can get through these side effects. Insight?

I have been taking for 1 week. After the third day I had to go down to 5 mg because I was feeling jittery inside and out. The last 2 days I have been more anxious and panic attacks. Starting 10mg tomorrow because I’m desperate for something to help my anxiety. Any feedback would be wonderful. I just want to feel like myself again. My anxiety just started in February and gets worse every month.

Hi SLVP Try to hang on. Your doctor knows best. Takes anywhere from 4-6 weeks or a little longer if dose is increased, in order to reach the full efficacy in your system. I started at 10mg and moved up to 15mg which I have been on now for 5 years. For me, it's been a fantastic drug with no side effects. There is always that rough period to go through when first starting. There really isn't a way around it.
