Hey anyone managed to cut down smoking/quit . I know of doesnt help anxiety but not smoking makes anxiety worse and sometimes nicotine gum can make you a bit jittery

I do smoke and I have not quit. Probably smoke a total of 4 packs a week. I guess I should be worried but I'm kind of not? So maybe my post is not appropriate but I don't notice smoking making my anxiety better or worse. But it does sound like if anxiety is the issue you are probably on to something thinking that the gum will not help. It would depend on how much you smoke but may be cutting down one or two a day and tapering would do the trick? I somewhat lame advice but it's all I've got 😒
I was just looking up a Mark Twain quote for another issue and I stumbled across this one " giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I've done it thousands of times" not exactly profound but it made me think of this. Take care.
U might want to quit. If u don't stop u could get Chrono obstruction pulmonary disease and eventually end up dying or needing a double lung transplant and that is not fun. I just wanted to warn u about this illness. I'm not trying to tell u what to do I just felt that u needed to know what could happen to u
Right if you can deal with a possible rise in anxiety for a short while and can quit cold turkey go for it! I've just done this. I used nicotine gum for the first 4 days and had severe anxiety for a day or two. I'm on 3 weeks now and I honesty feel like my anxiety levels have dropped over all. Plus I feel better in general 😊 I smoked for 7 years. Your minds more powerful than anything!

Cool .. I smoked cigs for like 5 years straight I got so hypochondriac I decided not to smoke one day .. and now it's been 2 years I am cigeret free.. of course it was difficult in start but not possible
