Prozac 20mg cold turkey update.

Hey guys,

So I'm now about 3 weeks cold turkey off prozac and should be noted Buspirone 5mg 3 times daily also stopped taking.

So I had a week last week where things seemed to be improving, muscle spams were lightning up , various head sensations still happening and ringing in ears.

Unfortunately last few days it's suddenly changed again for the worse.

Spams happening a lot more, sides of my body in particular bad, right side of my body keeps having an almost constant burning sensation in it.

And now I keep getting nasty stinging chemically pains in my legs, back, arms.

Also keep getting a sensation of a chemical taste in mouth and sharp sensation speck sort of sensation on tongue.

My head keeps doing this thing where it makes my ear make a sharp crackling noise and then the burning sensation happens, at one point in Bath this morning my head had a terrible stinging pain in the right side of it, which lingered until I rubbed it.

The slightest thing at the moment is setting it off.

Once again as I've reported it before, anything I think, notice or do is setting it off.

Wierdly I'm able to set it off at will, my counsellor said it's become like a habit/addiction to set it off, like being a naughty child and keep pressing a button when u know not to.

I guess I just felt when the spams were starting lesson I was happy, but now they have come back either a vengeance.

Also to remind everybody, before I was on medication I had only head and neck tension, slightly sore gut and panic attacks almost daily, none of this stuff.

Need some encouragement and all advice welcome, don't want to go back down the medication route again.

Hi Richy626, Wow...that's quite a big step you took in stopping 2 drugs cold turkey. Was it under your doctor's advice? Depending how long you have been on the meds, it is always more advisable to wean slowly in order to avoid the horrible effects. I've been there after having been on Xanax & Ativan for years, I wanted off the benzos. It was done with the approvable of my psychiatrist and weaned slowly. Even at that, it was pure hell in just coming down the med. I can totally understand what you are going through. The good thing is that it will adjust in time. Your brain will heal and you will start to feel more clear headed and in control again. Richy, it's been over 2 years since I'm off benzos and I can't tell you how great it is. I have my life back again. If I could leave you with one point of advice, it would be even on the worse day, do not relent to going back to your pills. It will set you back big time which is not much of a trade off for just a few hours of relief. I hope you better days ahead just give yourself time. Good Luck
