Fluoxetine
I have heard that this can happen, I did a bunch of research before I started taking it. It burnt the roof of my mouth once. It is apparently highly acidic and can cause burning sensation. So I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it persists over a week.
I don't take Fluoxetine, so I cannot comment on that specific drug. That Being said I've had some capsulated medication that has broken open and that has caused like a fizzing and burning sensation in my throat and down my esophagus. The chest pain will be due to the fizzing of the pill in your esophagus (it makes your chest hurt, this is why heart burn is felt in the chest but when in actual fact it's the esophagus being irritated). The esophagus isn't well protected, so it's very sensitive to chemicals, so it's normal for it to burn with things like this. I wouldn't worry about it too much, the worse case of this incident is the fact that the pill might not be effective this time around due to the slow release capsule being released all at once and not making the stomach, however don't double dose today though, in case the pills are still in effect.
